Market participants: registration and management

Partners in Energy is the place where all new market participants can register. Read how it works here.

The Dutch energy market

The Dutch energy market consists of many different market participants. Each participant fulfils its own specific role. These roles and responsibilities are recorded in laws and regulations. In principle, each role can be fulfilled by separate players. However, in practice, businesses often play several roles at once.

Energie Data Services Nederland (EDSN) plays an important role in the energy market. EDSN is responsible for the development and management of IT infrastructure and data services, so that all market participants can perform the processes involved in optimum market facilitation in a secure and efficient manner.

The Registry of Market Participants is the central registry in the Netherlands that records all crucial data about all those parties playing a role in the energy market that wish to have access to EDSN data services. So this registry contains all of the grid operators, suppliers, metering operators, Congestion Service Providers, GDS owners and balancing operators.

Registration and management of data

Partners in Energy is the place where all new market participants can register. This gives them access to needed data from the sector and allows them to use EDSN's services for market facilitation processes. The data recorded at Partners in Energy remain the property of the market participants. In the future, we will make it increasingly easy to view and manage your own data. Changing data, such as the preferred party administration (PPA), can also be done easily via the Partners in Energie website.
